──もし、あなたが今日「絶対に正しい」と感じている正義の一文が、ただ17歳前後の自分が、たまたま隣に座っていた友人と、たまたま読んでいたニュースから書き写しただけのものだとしたら。

1980年代の日本では、廊下を竹刀片手に歩く教師に、保護者から「ちゃんと叱ってくれて助かる」と感謝が並んでいた。親が褒めていた行為が、その子の代では犯罪扱いになる。たった、ひと世代だ。

──進化は、正義を一意に定めなかった。

正義は、移り変わる。だが移ろっているのは、正義そのものではない。誰が書いた紙を、いまの標準語と呼ぶかが、世代の手のなかで書き換わり続けているだけかもしれない。

道徳心理学・脳科学・進化心理学・社会学・政治学を横断しながら、「正義は価値観であり、世代は越えられない」という、私たちが普段あまり認めたがらない一文について、考えすぎてみました。
