江戸時代の庶民のくらしや名所を描いた浮世絵の多色摺り木版画。江戸木版画の製造の技術・技法は江戸時代に確立し、その技術・技法は改良を重ねながら発展して今日まで継承され、東京都を中心として伝統的に製造されています。

The lives of everyday citizens in the Edo period and famous landmarks/scenery were captured in vivid color by these ukiyoe ("floating world") woodblock prints.
The techniques developed in in the Edo era (1600-1868) have continued to be refined and remain in use today by artists working mainly in the Kanto region.
