長野県上松町で木曽森林鉄道の復元運転を実施している赤沢森林鉄道。北陸重機工業製のディーゼル機関車がオープン客車を牽引し、赤沢から丸山渡までの 762mmゲージの路線・1.1キロをのんびり往復。清冽な渓流に沿って檜の香り漂う山中をゆく走行シーン、楽しい車内、駅での車両の入換のほか、運休日に行われるメンテナンスの様子など。森林鉄道記念館に保存されているボールドウィン製の1号ＳＬや、C4型ディーゼル機なども紹介。

Akasawa Forest Railway [Railway Preservation Biography #01]


Akasawa Forest Railway is located in Agematsu Town of Nagano prefecture. Originally called Kiso Forest Railway, this rail was restored to its original state and preserved with its track width at a mere 762mm apart.
Departing from Akasawa Station, a diesel locomotive leisurely pulls passenger cars along rivers and through mountain paths before reaching its final destination of Maruyamado Station.
On days when it is not in use, maintenance is conducted on the locomotive.
