★スバル 360 に関して
1958年に登場、航空機技術を応用した超軽量構造を採用し、限られた空間で必要な居住性を確保するための新しいアイデアが数多く導入された量産型軽自動車であり、そのコンパクトなデザインから、「てんとう虫」の通称で呼ばれている。

モノコック構造の超軽量車体の後部に空冷エンジンを横置きしたRRで、ドアは後方ヒンジの前開きで、開口面積を前輪直後まで確保して、乗降性を良好にしている。

また軽量化のため、天井部分は当時の新素材であったGFRP（ガラス繊維強化プラスチック）が使用された。

1963年にマイナーチェンジされ、搭載される空冷2サイクルエンジンは、356ccの排気量から、最高出力25hp/5500rpm、最大トルク3.5kg-m/
／4500rpmを発揮し、最高速度は110km/h、高速巡行速度は80km/hであった。

★About the Subaru 360
Introduced in 1958, this mass-produced light car adopted an ultra-lightweight structure that applied aircraft technology, and introduced many new ideas to ensure the necessary livability in a limited space. Its compact design earned it the nickname "Ladybug."

It was a rear-engine, rear-engine, rear-wheel drive car with an air-cooled engine mounted horizontally at the rear of the ultra-lightweight monocoque body, and the doors were hinged at the rear and opened from the front, ensuring an opening area right behind the front wheels, making it easy to get in and out.

In order to reduce weight, the roof was made of GFRP (glass fiber reinforced plastic), a new material at the time.

It underwent a minor change in 1963, and the air-cooled two-stroke engine had a displacement of 356cc, a maximum output of 25hp/5500rpm, a maximum torque of 3.5kg-m/4500rpm, a maximum speed of 110km/h, and a cruising speed of 80km/h.
