★メルセデス・ベンツ500SL（R129)に関して
メルセデスの最上級スポーティモデルであるSLシリーズの4代目(R129型）として1989年に登場。
ロングノーズのフロントボンネットに、電動ソフトトップを装備し、車両の傾きを感知した際に起き上がり搭乗者を保護する可動式ロールオーバーバーがこのモデルから装備された。

特別設計されたフレーム付バケットシート（ヘッドレストとシートベルトを一体化）を装備、ソフトトップとハードトップ（重量34kg）の両方を備え、新たにARS（アクセレーション・スキッド・コントロール）を装備した。

搭載されるV型8気筒DOHCエンジンは、4973cの排気量から、最高出力 330ps(243kW)/5500rpm、最大トルク47.0kg・m(460.9N・m)/4000rpmを発揮した。

Introduced in 1989 as the fourth-generation (R129) of Mercedes' top-of-the-line sporty SL series.

The long-nose front hood was equipped with an electric soft top, and this model was also the first to feature an adjustable rollover bar that raised up to protect occupants when the vehicle detected a tilt.

Specially designed framed bucket seats (with integrated headrests and seatbelts) were available, and both a soft top and a hard top (weighing 34 kg) were available. New to the range was ARS (Acceleration Skid Control).

The car's V8 DOHC engine produced a maximum power output of 330 hp (243 kW) at 5500 rpm and a maximum torque of 47.0 kg-m (460.9 N-m) at 4000 rpm from its 4973cc displacement.
