Traditional gekiken (sparring training) of the Hokushin Ittō-ryū Hyōhō done with bōgu and shinai. The usage of bōgu and shinai comes directly from Hokushin Ittō-ryū as our school is considered the direct ancestor of modern sport kendō. We use this equipment since the founding of our school in 1820.
