小樽の港を出港し樺太西海岸に沿ってオホーツク海を北上する日本海軍の特務艦大泊の活動の記録。参考文献（『萬有科學大系 續篇 第十卷』）によれば、大泊は1921年に神戸の川崎造船所で建造された砕氷艦で、排水量は2830トン、「厚さ2呎位の氷ならば、容易に破つて進行することが出來る」という。しかし、日露の国境線だった樺太の北緯50度線に近い北緯49度半で結氷海を進めなくなった艦は氷上に投錨。「冒險ずきのカメラマン」は氷上の仮泊の間に樺太の国境の町の敷香町に入り、オロッコ（ウィルタ）のトナカイの橇やギリヤーク（ニヴフ）の犬橇、住居や「敷香教育所」と看板のある学校と子供たち、漁の様子といった少数民族の生活を撮影している。乗員総がかり作業で氷を抜け出した艦は北緯50度まで進むと南に転じ、宗谷海峡に面する亜庭湾の沿いの大泊に寄ったのち小樽に向かう。

「フィルムは記録する ―国立映画アーカイブ歴史映像ポータル―」では、1915年から1938年までの間に製作された作品を中心に45作品を新たに公開します。今回は、官民で製作された多彩な教育映画のほか、大正天皇即位にかかわる貴重なフィルムや国内外の様々な出来事や風物を伝える作品を集めました。国立映画アーカイブでは、今後も随時公開作品を増やしていく予定です。ぜひサイトをお訪ねください。

The sixth edition of this site presents 45 additional titles covering mainly the years from 1915 to 1938. The selection includes a variety of educational films produced by the public and private sectors, while valuable footage related to the enthronement of Emperor Taisho and films that convey various events, scenery and customs both in Japan and abroad.
