文部省製作の山岳関係映画としては最初の作品。烏帽子岳から焼岳に至る北アルプス（飛騨山脈）中部一帯の山々とともに、雷鳥や地衣類、ハクサンイチゲ、キバナシャクナゲ、キヌガサソウ、サンカエフ、シナノキンバイ、オオサクラソウ、タカネザクラ、ミヤマツマキチョウなどの動植物が映し出される。踏破ルートは、青木湖と木崎湖の湖水めぐりに始まり、大町から高瀬川に沿って進み山脈へ入り、烏帽子、鷲羽岳、蓮華岳、双六岳、槍ヶ岳から下って穂高山麓の上高地牧場から焼岳、大正池に至る。撮影補導の小泉秀雄は長野県松本女子師範学校教諭で、「文部省活動寫眞斑」の実質は製作を委託された東京シネマ商会。

「フィルムは記録する ―国立映画アーカイブ歴史映像ポータル―」では、1921年から1938年までの間に製作された作品を中心に43作品を新たに公開いたします。今回の公開では、社会的話題から市民生活までをテーマとした多様な作品に加え、重要文化財フィルム『史劇 楠公訣別』を公開しています。国立映画アーカイブでは、今後も随時公開作品を増やしていく予定です。ぜひサイトをお訪ねください。

The fourth edition of this site presents 43 additional titles covering mainly the years from 1921 to 1938. The selection includes a variety of works on topics ranging from social issues to everyday life, while the film designated as Important Cultural Property "Shigeki Nanko Ketsubetsu".
