無印良品は世界の洗濯の風景を求めて旅に出ました。布が太陽の光を浴び、風にそよいで乾いていく。そんな世界共通の営みに、水や空気のように暮らしを支えたいという無印良品の思いを重ね、自分たちのあるべき姿を見つめ直しました。

豊かな自然が広がるペッチャブリー県。青々とした木々の中に、農作業の際に使われてきた伝統的な布、パーカオマーの鮮やかな色が照り映えています。オレンジ色の布は、寺の境内に干されていた袈裟。古い布を集め、染め直して作るのが伝統だという。

MUJI set out on a journey to capture laundry scenes from around the world. Bathed in sunlight and swaying in the breeze, clothes dry naturally in the open air. Focusing on this simple, universal ritual, MUJI has reflected on our aspiration to support and enrich daily life, like air and water, encouraging us to rethink the direction we should be taking.

Phetchaburi Province is blessed with an abundance of natural beauty.
Against a backdrop of lush greenery, Pha Khao Ma—traditional. rectangular woven cloth –shine brightly in vibrant colors and distinctive patterns: checks, plaids, and stripes. Orange cloth is often seen drying in the sunlight within temple grounds. According to traditional Thai practice, old cloth is collected, redyed orange, and then made into Buddhist robes.
