暖かい日も多くなってきましたが
時折雪が降る寒い窯焚きになりました。

今回の焼成は前回と同じく還元を目指して焼きました。
薪の種類を変えることで表面の色合いがどう変わるのか確認するために
横から投入する薪を杉から広葉樹に変更しました。

仕上げに使う薪は一晩水に浸したもの使ったので
冷却還元の反応がどう変わるのか楽しみでした。

結果としては炭化のような反応がすすんで
今までは偶然発色していた暗い青が出ました。
この色の再現を目指して、より精度を高めていきたいです。

We’ve had more warm days lately, but the weather turned cold for this firing, with occasional snow falling around the kiln.

As with the previous run, my goal for this firing was reduction. To see how different wood species affect the surface tones, I switched my side-stoking fuel from cedar to hardwood. I also used wood that had been soaked in water overnight for the finishing stage, as I was curious to see how it would influence the cooling reduction process.

The results were fascinating—the heavy carbonization produced a deep, dark blue that had previously only appeared by chance. Now that I know it's possible, I want to refine my technique and work toward consistently reproducing this specific color.
